Kelly & Zach
Goddard Park in East Greenwich, Rhode Island
October 20th, 2017
I love engagement sessions.
As much as you might feel like you can get to know a couple through a bridal consultation and a handful of replies sent back in forth over Facebook Messenger or email, it really takes an engagement session to get a good feel for how a future bride and groom really interact and find a way to tell the story of their relationship on their wedding day.
And few couples have been as fun to work with during an engagement session as Kelly and Zach were back in October.
Kelly and Zach, who will be getting married next June in Massachusetts, were an absolute blast to work with during their engagement session at Goddard Park. Not only were they down for all the silly poses and ideas I had but I could tell they were genuinely excited about their 2018 wedding and, in turn, I also became excited about it.
And if the results are half as good as their engagement session photos were, I know we're in for a special day.
Zach and Kelly chose Goddard Park for their engagement session and I can't blame them. There are few spots I like more in the fall than this park as the wide open space has tons of beautiful trees and fall foliage and makes for amazing portraits where you can really show your couple's personalities.
I really enjoyed how go-with-the-flow Zach and Kelly were. Whether it was having them pose on a horse trail that looked awesome but smelled less than ideal or having Zach try to climb his way into an old tree, there was no idea the two shot down and we really got some fun poses in our two hours together.
If I had to choose a favorite photo of Zach and Kelly, it would probably be the one I led this blog off with as the couple themselves came up with the idea to pose in front of the nice barn we passed by but the photo above, taken in the horse path right after a trio of giant horses came strolling by, would be a close second.
All in all, even though Zach, Kelly and I spent two hours together, I could have easily gone for another two and not run out of ways to photograph this bride and groom.
I loved watching how supportive Zach was of any of the silly poses Kelly and I threw his way and I can tell that their June wedding is going to be a lot of fun and lend itself to a lot of really, really cool photos.
Here's hoping their venue has some loose hanging trees. Zach has already shown himself quite capable of climbing them ... even if it less than graceful.
So congrats Zach and Kelly! I know you're as excited as I am to count down the days to your wedding and I can tell, together, we're going to create some really special photos on one of the best days of your lives.
